EMPOWERED SONS

"On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." John 7:37-38

God is an extravagantly loving Father who adopts us into His family; this adoption redefines our identity as we discover His joy for us. God is also a King. He sovereignly rules the earth and imparts favor and authority to those who are surrendered to Him. Receiving love from God as Father empowers us to surrender to God as King.

The unconditional love of God as Father wins our heart and inspires our surrender. As we posture ourself in full surrender, we position ourself to receive His favor and authority to change the world. Jesus points us toward the Father to be empowered by His love, and then He points us outward to join Him in His epic quest to bring His Kingdom on earth.

Inward and Outward

In John 7:37-38, Jesus is instructing us to face inward, and then outward:

"On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."

If we move toward Jesus and drink from His love, His love will expand inside us and begin to flow outward; it will become a well of life for others around us. This is exactly what happened to the Samaritan woman in John 4:1-26. Jesus, the well of love for humanity, is sitting on a well. When Jesus encounters the woman at the well, He invites her to experience His love, and as she drinks, she becomes a well of life for her whole community. (John 4:39-42).

Our ability to be spiritually fruitful is empowered by Christ's love. He invites us to drink from His love and become a well of life for others. Our ability to fully surrender to God as King is also empowered by God’s love. The Father invites us to experience His affection for us in a way that empowers us to surrender.

We pray and declare that daily you will be an empowered son or daughter of God. We declare you will drink from His love and be a well of life for others. We declare you will experience His deep affection for you in a way that empowers you to surrender every area of your life to Him-the One who loves you above all others!
