BETTER THAN IT WAS BEFORE!

"Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we (ignorantly) esteemed Him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace (the suffering that brought our peace) was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed." Isaiah 53:4-5

I’m going to heal your broken heart, relieve you of your suffering, break off your chains, lift grief and disappointment off you, and give you a reason to rejoice!

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing a broken pot with gold or silver lacquer. This form of art focuses on the importance of embracing the beauty that comes from suffering. Broken objects are not to be hidden but shown with pride. We can learn from this ancient practice and see how God takes what the enemy meant for evil in our lives to supernaturally heal and restore our lives to something better than it was before. That’s what restoration means: a restored life that is now better than before it was broken.

You may have experienced trauma: “An emotional response to a terrible event. Or guilt: “Feeling bad about what you've done.” Another feeling is Shame: “Feeling bad about who you are. All of these can affect your identity: “Who you believe you are.”

David is one of the most traumatized men in the Bible. He was born in shame. Ignored by his family. Hunted down like a dog while being chased by his king. David later committed adultery and murder. He was also betrayed by those closest to him. David was marginalized and rejected by his own family, his king, and even the nation.

He was about 13 years old when he was anointed to be king by Samuel.

God took a marginalized, rejected boy and transformed him into an epic warrior and lover of God! God redefined his identity, removed his shame, and turned him into a hero!

God gave David a unique revelation of Himself as an outrageous and unconditional lover of the human heart!

Moses knew God as Redeemer and Friend. Abraham knew God as Fiend and Faithful Covenant Keeper. But David discovered God as a LOVER of his heart!

Psalm 34:4-5, "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame."

Psalm 23:2-3, "He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul."

David was like a broken pot. The Lord restored his soul, so he became better than before! God can do the same for you. Take this opportunity to turn your hearts’ attention to him today. Bring him the broken pieces of your life and watch the Master Artist and Healer restore and heal every area of your life. Like a beautiful piece of art, He will make all things better than it was before! Others will look at your life and see the power and goodness of our God!
